Manually creating links to certain posts or pages are fine if you don’t have too much content to manage. But what if you have a blog with tons of content and you’re constantly adding new blog posts? Then manually creating links within your content would not only be very time consuming, but also very difficult to keep track of. So, what do you do? Install an automatic linking plugin.
Here are a few that I’ve tried:
WPMU Automatic Links - This plugin is based off Automatic SEO Links. Too simple for my taste. There aren’t too many features; all you can do is assign keywords to URLs and set Title, Target and Rel attributes.
SEO Smart Links – Offers lots of features such as nofollow and target attributes, excluding links from titles, and setting number of links per keyword.
Cross-linker - This is the one that I use. It has all the features that SEO Smart Links offers and more. In addition to the standard link settings, this one features the ability to backup, import/export, and ignore HTML tags and characters.
